Sarah (Shaut) Cooney was a daughter of George and Mary Shaut of Avoca. She married John H. Cooney, and they lived in Wayland. They had three daughters: Mrs. Marvin (Mae) Finch, Mrs. Charles (Dora) Rogers and Mrs. Alonozo (Nellie) Bill, all of Wayland. Mrs. Cooney died in her sleep at her home on East Naples Street on January 18, 1906.
