Robert L. Sample, 86, died Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 28, at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud, with Rev. Al Stangl officiating.
Robert was born January 19, 1928, in Monticello to Clifford and Mabel (Daniels) Sample. He was self employed as a mechanic with his father at their Phillips 66 service station in Monticello until 1954. Later that year he opened and ran his own Texaco Service Station until 1965 also in Monticello. Robert then moved to Portland, OR, and worked in a Grocery Warehouse until returning to Minnesota in 1972. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Harlan.
