Mrs. Susan D. Thysen, 77 years old, wife of Hermanus G[eorge]. Thyson, Sr., a retired Washington merchant, died yesterday at her residence, 1631 Q street northwest, after an illness of several weeks. She was a life-long resident of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Thyson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary May 23, 1920.
She is survived by her husband and six children -- Anna Maude; George Jr., manager of the Washington office of the Remington Cash Register Company; M. Blanche, wife of Maj. W[illiam] S. Harrison of the Marine Corps; M. Grace, wife of D[allas] O. Southworth; Paulus; and Lieut. Comdr. Leo C. Thyson, attached to the medical staff of the Norfolk Navy Yard.
[Her daughter Pauline and her son Robert Hewitt Thyson predeceased her.]
