Helen Mary Bunk, 88, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away from this life on Sunday morning, October 26, 2014 at St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars, PA. A resident of Warren, PA until relocating to Pittsburgh with her husband in 1972. Helen was born on January 26, 1926 in Torpedo, PA, daughter of Helen and John Nodzak. She was a 1944 graduate of Youngsville High School. She worked as the gift shop manager North Hills Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA until she retired in 1991. She was a professional seamstress and member of the North Pittsburgh Quilters Guild.

Helen was a member of St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, Warren, PA., where she was a religious education teacher for 14 years, a charter member of the Holy Redeemer Church Parish Council and a member of Catholic Daughters of America Warren Court. Helen was an active member of St. John Neumann, as a Eucharistic minister, a member of RCIA and member of many church groups.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Stephen Bunk in 1974, whom she married May 10, 1947. She is also preceded in death by sisters Mary, Ann, Mildred, Vera and Josephine; brothers Adam, John, Stephen, Anthony and Joseph and grandson Joseph Corbitt.

Helen is survived by her children Anita Corbitt and her husband Terrence of Omaha, NE, Monica Porter and her husband John of Gibsonia, PA and her son Kenneth Bunk and his wife Joan of Millersville, MD.; grandchildren Matthew Corbitt and his wife Cathy, Sam Corbitt, Anne Porter Golding and her husband Kenneth Golding, James Porter and his wife, Julia; Marseille Bunk and Erica Bunk Ray and her husband Stephen, three great-grandchildren Scarlett and Jackson Ray and Spencer Corbitt. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Sacrament of the sick was performed by Father Albin McGinnis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. John Neumann Church, Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. A committal service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mausoleum of the Ascension at St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, PA., with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor of Holy Redeemer Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John Neumann Church, 2230 Rochester Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 or to Butler VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road Butler, PA 16001.
