Frederick Domm, for many years a resident of this section of the country, died on Sunday (Nov. 17) at Hammond, Ind., where Mr. and Mrs. Domm had been living with their daughter, Mrs. A.B. Liston. About five weeks ago he fell and broke his hip. This injury, coupled with his extremem age, caused death.
Deceased was born in Hessen, Germany, February 6, 1812. He came to the United States in October, 1850. and lived for one year at Pittsburg, Pa. From there he came to Ottawa, Ill., where he farmed until 1869, when he came to this county and located in Charlotte township. He remained in Charlotte until 1884, when he moved toa farm near Piper City where he remained one year, and then came to Chatsworth township. Five years later he moved to Milks Grove township, where he remained ten years, since which time he had resided at Hammond. He was married to Miss Margaret Fetser at Ottawa in 1854, who with three sons and three daughters survive, two daughters having died. The surviving children are as follows: F.S. Domm, Kempton; Fred Domm, West Pullman; Edward Domm, living in Dakota; Katie, relict of A.B. Liston, of Hammond, Ind.; Della, wife of S.G. Smith, Hammond, Ind.; Sadie, wife of Bert Burket, Germantown, Neb.
The remains were brought to this city on Monday from the north and the funeral services were held at the M. E. church on Monday afternoon at one o'clock, Rev. M.L. Miller, of Kempton, officiating, and the remains laid to rest in the Chatsworth cemetery.
