Doris Lee Pitman, age 84, of Matthews died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminister.
Doris was born on January 12, 1930 in Mitchell County and was the daughter of the late William and Etta Ward Pitman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pitman who passed away in 1991. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Georgie Fisher.
Left to cherish Doris memories are her son; Gary Pitman and wife, Pam of Matthews; her grandson; David Pitman and wife, Charissa of Stamford, CT; her great granddaughter; Avery Jane Pitman of Stamford, CT; her sisters; Ruth Buchanan of Spruce Pine; Marie Jarrett of Bakersville; and Mary V. Mace of Marion; several nieces and nephews.
