Johanna Vos

Johanna Vos, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Pella Community Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jacob Vos.

Born in Mahaska County Aug. 11, 1898, she was the daughter of Henry and Martha Kolenbrander. She married Jacob Vos Dec. 22, 1927, at Pella. He preceded her in death in 1968.

Survivors include two children, Elmer J. Vos of New Sharon, and Miriam (Mrs. Michael) Williams of Cedar; two grandchildren, Rachel and Richard Williams; one brother, Rev. Dirk Kolenbrander of Pella;and two sisters , Rachel
(Mrs. Tunis) Goemaat and Dena (Mrs. Ed; Vermeer, both of Pella.

Mrs. Vos lived most of herlifetime in the Peoria area and attended the Peoria Christian Reformed Church. Memorials have been designated for the Christian Opportunity Center in her name.

Services were held Friday, Feb. 9, at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. Peter Van Drunen officiating. Burial was in Peoria Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Garden Chapel Funeral Home.
