He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Rev. Bieber attended Muhlenberg College, but graduated from Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster in 1957 with a Master of Divinity Degree.
He was employed by the United States Bureau of Naturalization & Immigration Services for three years prior to becoming ordained. After becoming ordained in 1957 from the Evangelical and Reformed Church, Rev. Bieber was called to the Utica Charge, Frederick MD until 1960. He became the Senior Pastor of St. Stephen's U.C.C. in Lebanon, where during his tenure of 34 years, a new church was built. From 2001 - 2012, he became the Associate Pastor for Visitation at Jordan U.C.C., Allentown where he was a faithful and beloved member.
Rev. Bieber served as Director of U.C.C. Homes, Annville, Lebanon County from 1984 - 1993, Board of Trustees of The Phoebe Home, Allentown from 1981 - 1993, served two consecutive sessions of the House of Delegates, State of Maryland, in the "Old State House", Annapolis, MD, and was past President of the Lebanon Association of the Penn Central Conference of the United Church of Christ. He was currently serving as Vice-President and Board Member of the Pennsylvania German Society.
Survivors: Brother, Richard F. Bieber of Bethlehem; sister, Ruth J. Cressman of Lower Macungie Township; several nieces and nephews.
Services: Funeral services for Rev. Bieber will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Jordan U.C.C., 1837 Church Road, Allentown with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 6 - 8:00 p.m. Friday and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church parlor. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Jerusalem Cemetery of Western Salisbury, Allentown. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
