Estella Harmon, 94, of Canby died April 2, 2014. She was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Grants Pass, Oregon, to Frank and Nettie Morrison. She graduated from Grants Pass High School.
In 1940 she married Byron Harmon and they were married for 54 years. She was a long time resident of the Canby / Woodburn area.
Estella was active in Canby schools as a PTA president and also worked several years at the Canby High School library.
Estella enjoyed the adventure of traveling with Byron and visiting nearly every state and much of Canada. She especially remembered three months traveling the mission field with the Northrup’s in Mexico. Her travels also included England, Scotland, and Wales looking for family information.
Estella and Byron owned a beach cabin for 20 years and played golf at the Oregon coast.
Family and faith were the most important parts of her life. She was an active member of the Christian Churches for 73 years. She will be remembered for the large bunches of roses she brought to church during the summer.
Survivors include her sons; Mike and Pat, of Canby, Jeff, of Salem, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Evangelical Church of North America at 339 SE Township Rd., Canby, Oregon
