James "Kerm" Gurnitz

James “Kerm” Gurnitz, 52, of Closplint, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015, at his home. He was born February 19, 1963 in Joliet, Illinois, where he worked as a landscaper.

He was preceded in death by his father George Gurnitz; two brothers, Gary Gurnitz and Dale Gurnitz; and a best friend, Rory Melville.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Studer Gurnitz, Illinois; two brothers, George Gurnitz, Jr. and wife, Debbie; Glenn Gurnitz and wife, Tonya, all of Illinois; four sisters, Gail Sage and husband, Chris, Closplint; Liz Donick and husband, Shadow, Illinois; June Riley and husband, Scott, Arizona; Shirley Jarrett, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends including special niece and nephew, Tyler and Leah Sage.

A memorial gathering will be conducted Saturday, September 12, 2015, from 3 until 6 PM at the Kings Chapel Church at Lejunior with the Reverend Janice Fulkerson officiating.
