Arthur L. "Art" Kelsey, Sr., died this morning at a local hospital. The family home is 606 N Ruby.
Funeral services will be held Monday (Aug. 17) at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with Dr. Laurence Davis pastor of the Trinity Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation hours will be Sunday evening 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Kelsey was born April 10, 1904 on a farm near Wood River, the son of WIlliam H. and Gertrude Hill Kelsey.
On Nov. 30, 1927, he married Vera Miller at Columbus, they came to Grand Island to make their home in 1937. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was active in the Westlawn Methodist Mens Organization, also a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Survivors included his wife, three sons: Arthur L Jr., and Harold O. of Grand Island, Dean W. of Denver, two daughters: Mrs. Charles Tewell, Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Donald C. Cargill, Grand Island, 12 grandchildren and one great grandson. Three brothers: Archie of Council Bluffs, William of Edgar, and Clyde of Los Angeles.
