Mr. Ricky Dewayne "Gomer" McDaniel, age 62, of Tracy City, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at his residence. He was a son of the late Charles "Shorty" McDaniel and Joyce Avis Bess McDaniel and was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest McDaniel; grandparents, Bill and Tressie McDaniel and John and Hallie Bess; granddaughter, Chelsy.
Gomer had worked in the timber business all of his life and loved being in the woods.
Survivors include his children, Steven M. McDaniel, Amanda M. (Josh) Parson and Kimberly A. McDaniel; brother, Timmy (Beverly) McDaniel; sister-in-law, Delores "Dee" McDaniel; special uncle and aunt, Howell and Wanda "Fluff" McDaniel; special cousin, April McBee and family; best friend, Bill "Wimp" Wimpy, special nurse, Vicky Eggert with Hospice of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton and Donavyn; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Clayton Jones officiating. Burial will be in Bonny Oak Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, TN.
