Jerry L. McIntire, 71, passed away Saturday in a local hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and lived several years in Pacific Grove before moving to Benicia 12 years ago. Jerry was a career Military man, serving more than 21 years in the United States Army.
Jerry was Past President of the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce; a member and Deacon with Trinity Baptist Church in Florida and was a former Boy Scout leader, baseball and softball coach and former volunteer fire fighter. Jerry was a loving husband, father & grandfather and enjoyed fishing, bowling, assembling models, doing crossword puzzles and was always more than willing to tell a joke.
Jerry is survived by Helen, his wife of almost 47 years; daughters Patricia (Charles) Turner and Sharon (Greg) Bosscawen; son David McIntire; sisters Nancy (Gary) Wooley and Tricia McIntire; his grandchildren Michael Sheppard, Kyle, Neil & Brittany Bosscawen & Jessica Turner. and his dog Peanut. He was preceded in death by his brothers Larry & Thomas McIntire and his grandson Mark Sheppard.
Funeral services will be held 12:30 Monday at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon. Visitation will be at the mortuary after 10:00 a.m. Monday. Family prefers donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
