Fred Arthur Sasse, 84, of Whiting, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at home.

Born in New Brunswick, he lived in East Millstone Before moving to Whiting 18 years ago. Fred was a cabinet maker. He worked for the Raritan Arsenal, Edison for 8 years and the Boy Scouts of America, North Brunswick for 15 years. Fred was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.

Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Bette Sasse; one daughter, Suzanne K. Pollock of Easton, PA; one sister, Clare Julian of Metuchen; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 1st from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
