Angela Johnston Dormagen, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on August 20 in Washington, DC, of complications from a recent illness. She was 54 years old.

Angela was born in Durham, North Carolina. She was the first of three children born to Mary Nell (Weems) and Charles D. Johnston.

After the family returned to North Alabama, Angela attended and graduated from Brewer High School, where she played varsity basketball. She continued her athletic career at the University of North Alabama, where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Management Information Systems. Angela went on to earn a Master's Degree in Management Science at the University of Alabama Huntsville, and a PhD in International Business from Southern California University. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, and held professional certifications from the Project Management Institute and APICS. Angela was an Information Technology Consultant and Architect. For the past two years, she had been in Washington working on contracts for the Department of State and the Department of Defense. Previously, Angela had contracted to several large insurance companies, as well as many other companies in a variety of industries. Angela's work took her to international locations such as China, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic and France, as well as many US locations including Washington, DC, Louisville, KY, Philadelphia, PA, Dallas, TX, and Los Angeles, CA.

Angela is preceded in death by her father, Charles D. Johnston.

She is survived by her loving husband Andy, of Huntsville, her mother Nell, brother Darryl and his wife Vickie, of Somerville, sister Joy and her husband Heath of Melbourne, FL. She is also survived by her three poodle girls, Cookie, Cinnabun, and M&M, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 4, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist church in Somerville, AL. A Memorial Celebration will follow.
