Gertie Mae Liford, age 76, of Hemlock Subdivision, Williamsburg, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at home. She was born on April 7, 1940 in Barbourville, Kentucky to the late Matt and Sophie Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Monroe Liford; daughter, Patty Noe Monhollen; granddaughter, Brittany Fleenor; and brothers, Edward Bennett, Charlie Bennett, and Willie Bennett. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, Elbert Douglas (wife Sheila) of Williamsburg, Kentucky; grandson, Eric Michael Douglas (wife Tasha) of Rockholds, Kentucky; granddaughter, Gabrielle Hartz of Williamsburg, Kentucky; three great grandchildren, Olivia Grace Douglas. Jonah Matthew Fleenor, and Kennedy Faith Fleenor; two brothers, Johnny Bennett of Detroit, Michigan and Lowell Bennett of Williamsburg, Kentucky; sister, Chelsea Mowery (husband Ulyss) of Gausdale, Kentucky: sister-in-law, Faye Bennett of Barbourville, Kentucky; many nieces and nephews; and host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. until the funeral hour Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Croley Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 5: 00 P.M. Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Powers officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Croley Addition of Highland Park Cemetery. Dawson Powers, James Ronnie Young, Junior Peace, Ed Webb, Eugene Collins, and Rick Huddleston will serve as pallbearers.
