John W. Dohm, founder of Dohm Oil Co., died at 2:25 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph s Hospital, where he was admitted Thursday. He was 86.
Formerly of 601 S. Ash Ave., he had resided at Marshfield Convalescent Center since June 23, 1972.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rev. Peter J. Leketas officiating. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Grandsons of Mr. Dohm will serve as pallbearers and music will be provided by Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Wesley.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today and until service time Tuesday at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel where a parish vigil will be at 8 tonight.
Auxiliary to Veterans of World War I, Barracks No. 2319, of which Mr. Dohm was a member, will hold a memorial service at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born Sept. 19, 1892 in Dane, he came to the Richfield area with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William (Anna Jasper) Dohm. He attended town of Richfield schools and a mechanical engineering school in Duluth, Minn. He farmed before joining the U.S. Army to serve in World War I.
In 1933, he established the oil company and before that had farmed and worked for Ludwig Implement Co. He retired in 1957. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Holy Name Society.
He married Armean A. Varsho Sept. 10, 1917 at St. John's Catholic Church here. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in September 1967. She died March 23, 1972.
Surviving are three sons, Norman L. of Marshfield, Myron J., Route 1, Danbury, and Orville F. of Weyauwega; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert of Park Falls; and a sister, Mrs. Gordon L. (Frieda) Meyer of Marshfield. Four brothers and a grandchild are deceased.
