Betsy graduated from the University Lab School and enrolled in Stephens College where she earned her degree in graphics arts. She was employed as the general manager of KRCG TV for many years. Most recently she found employment, purpose and passion in her role as the President of Thumper Entertainment and The Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival. Betsy also worked at Wilson’s Fitness Center for many years where she taught classes and inspired and mentored hundreds of people to get fit and stay healthy. She was an amazing woman who always saw the good in others. She was a guiding light and a positive support to all who were blessed to know her. Betsy’s greatest love was for her family, especially her three sons.
Betsy is survived by her mother: Marilynn Lamb Holm of Columbia; three sons: James Collin Farris of Ft. Collins, CO; Troy Alexander Farris of Columbia; Mathew Stewart Farris of Columbia; her loving companion: Ben White; the grand parents of her children: Don and Annalou Farris of Columbia and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Betsy was preceded in death by her father: Donald Sutherland Holm, Jr. and one brother Donald Sutherland Holm, III.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Broadway Christian Church with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. A private family entombment will take place at Columbia Cemetery.
