Arturo "Art" Garza Sr., 63, of Glenns Ferry, passed away at his home, on Saturday, November 5, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel located at 500 North 18 East, Mountain Home. 587-0612. Arturo was born on September 14, 1953 in Pharr, Texas to Horacio and Maria del Refugio Garza. As a teenager, Art traveled to different states doing farm work until he settled in Idaho where he met his wife Alicia. They migrated back and forth from Idaho to Texas until eventually settling down in Glenns Ferry, Idaho where he worked as a ditch rider with Farm Development Corporation for 45 years. Art enjoyed reading, mechanics, hand crafting jewelry and spending time with his grandkids. He always had a great sense of humor which his grandchildren, nieces and nephews loved. Art is survived by his father, Horacio Garza; his wife of 45 years, Alicia Garza; son, Arturo Jr. (Sonia), daughter, Esmeralda (Petro) Ortiz; his 8 grandchildren: Arturo III, Amanda Nicole, Abram, Adam, Avril, Ace, Sonia, Angel and 1 great-grandchild, JoAnthony. He is also survived by 7 brothers and 7 sisters. Art is preceded in death by his mother, Maria del Refugio. Arturo will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever.
