Martin Martinez Garcia, 62, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Visitation and Rosary will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, October 26, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, October 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby Avenue, with Father Benjamin Magnaye officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Martin was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Joe and Angelita Garcia. After graduation from high school, he went on to college to receive a degree that dealt with computers. He worked for WISD for over 13 years. Martin married Angie Olivarez on September 13, 1974. Together they were a loving and lively couple, as they were one another's dancing partners for over 40 years. They enjoyed traveling together, their destinations included, Paris, Germany, and New York. Some of his favorite things to do were gamble and play pool.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Angelita Garcia; brother, Tony Garcia; mother-in-law, Lilly Olivarez; and a great-granddaughter, Triniti Grace Newton.

He is survived by his wife, Angie; children: Linda Ramirez, Edward and Terrie Ramirez, of Austin, Anthony Garcia and JoAnna Machado, and Lionel and Tina Daley, of New York; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers: Angel Garcia and wife, Terri, Leonard Garcia and wife, Olga, and Joe and Alex Garcia; sisters: Velma Garcia and Maria, Mary Martinez and Joe, Gloria Jimenez and Joe, Carolyn Garcia, Terrie Garcia, Yolanda Jimenez and Raymond; and many other relatives.
