John married at the age of 23 (about 1925). In 1930 he was living with his wife, Flora Lee (Hall) Benson (age 23), and their two daughters, Colleen (age 4) and Marilyn (age 1 month), in Modesto, CA. The family was still living in Modesto in 1940.
Apparently John and Flora divorced as her surname was Anderson at the time of her death. Flora, born January 4, 1907 in Oklahoma, died May 11, 1988 in Sacramento County, CA.
