Pete worked as a brick mason and home builder. After retirement, he and his wife, Pauline, moved to Chattanooga in 1994, where they remained until their passing.
Corporal D.W. Miller served in the Pacific during WWII in the Phillippine Islands, Okinawa, Guam, Guadacanal and China. He did not talk about his experiences during the war until very late in life. "What our veterans go through to keep our country safe, no one should have to endure".
(Pete's family wishes to express their gratitude to their father and all our war veterans for their service to our country).
Pete loved the outdoors, bow hunting, and archery. Being avid travelers, Pete and Pauline traveled to every state in the union as many times as they could and to both Canada and Mexico. They drove the Alaska Highway 3 times and loved seeing God's creation first hand.
When he wasn't traveling, Pete worked in his wood working shop building exceptional handcrafted furniture and cabinetry. He was always in the shop or working in the yard.
