Born in Arlington, GA on May 5, 1929, Mrs. Webb was the daughter of the late Dock, Sr. and Lillian Allen Essic. She received a Bachelors Degree from Albany State College and a Masters Degree from Columbus State University. She was an educator for over 30 years in Harris and Chattahoochee counties. Her last tenure was at Chattahoochee County Elementary School. She was a member of the Box Springs, GA Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Webb, Sr.; her son, William Webb, Jr. and two sisters, Geneva Essic Hadley and Bernice Essic Jackson. Survivors include: her daughter, Tanya Webb Leslie of Midland; three grandchildren, Candace Leslie of Queens, NY, Catherine Leslie of Columbus and Gerald Leslie of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Willie A. Essic (Alvin) and Nathaniel Essic (Elmira) of Albany and Dock Essic, Jr. of Cleveland, OH; sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma L. Christopher of Jacksonville, FL and Josephine W. Nichols (Nathaniel) of Leesburg, GA, McKinley Webb, Jr. (Azzie) of Albany and Albert Webb of Orange, NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
