Meg was born in Oklahoma City, OK, graduated from Lee High School in Midland, Texas, and attended Texas Tech University. After graduating, Meg attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and became a licensed Dental Hygienist. On November 11, 1976, Meg married Mike Charles, her one and only true love. They had two wonderful children, Traci and Chad. Meg worked as a dental hygienist until her first grandchild was born. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Plus, she was always there for her family, friends, neighbors. no matter what they might need.

After over a year of fighting a rare cancer, Meg lost the battle on Friday, July 15, 2016. She fought hard and never lost her faith in God. Meg was preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Orwig, her parents, Phil & Louise Orwig and mother-in-law, Lorene Charles. Meg is survived by her husband, Mike Charles, daughter and son-in-law, Traci & David Marroquin, son and daughter-in-law, Chad & Melissa Charles, 3 grandchildren, Elliott, Garrett and Reece, two sisters, Susan Tassos & Christi Orwig, sister-in-law, Marsha Charles, father-in-law, Jack Charles, nephew & wife, Taylor & Amy Tassos, nephew, Pete Tassos, great-niece, Samantha, great-nephews, Stavros & William and countless friends who Meg made feel like family.
