Doris A. Meyers, 80, of Brownstown, entered the presence of her Lord, Jesus Christ, Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.

She was born in Chambersburg to the late Charles and Carrie (Rice) Rife and was the wife of Thomas S. Meyers with whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 21, 2016. She was a member of Calvary Church.

Doris was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed gardening, watching birds, and viewing light houses. She also volunteered at Child Evangelism Fellowship and Meals on Wheels.

In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by 4 sons, Lynn E. Meyers of Brownstown, Rodney A., husband of Karen Meyers of Great Falls, MT, Kevin L. Meyers of Manheim, Curtis J. Meyers of Wallingford; 3 grandchildren, Jason, husband of Malory Meyers, Jenna, wife of Ryan Swope, Janessa Meyers; 2 great-granddaughters, Teaghan Meyers, Kaylee Swope; and a brother, Charles, Jr., husband of Ruth Rife of Rockford, IL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Urey and Arlene Keener.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, from 10 to 11 AM, at the Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, followed by a memorial service at 11 AM, with Charles Rife, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in Doris's memory may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 5307 Main Street, East Petersburg, PA 17520.
