On Saturday, Feb. 28, 1903, at 10 o'clock a.m., occurred the death of J.R. Robertson at the home of David Chilson. The deceased was the father of Mrs. Chilson. He was born in Shelby county, Kentucky in 1825. He spent the most of his life in Iowa and Illinois. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his loss. He has a daughter, Mrs. Geo. Amo, at Pilot Mound and his wife and six children are in Illinois. The deceased had a stroke of paralysis Thursday night from which he never rallied. He was 78 years and 2 months old.
The funeral was held Monday at 1 p.m. at the home of David Chilson. He was laid away in Swede Bend cemetery.
