Maria Luisa Benitez, 96, of Ocala Florida, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2017. Maria was born in Tela, Honduras to her parents Luis Felipe Murillo and Evangelina (Castillo) Murillo. She moved to Ocala from Louisiana in 2012 following hurricane Katrina. She was employed at Pan American Life Insurance Company in New Orleans, Louisiana as a Policy Registrar until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Mario P. Benitez and sons: Luis F. Benitez and Robert J. Benitez Jr.. She is survived by her daughter: Mary Lou (Edward B.) Todd, step son: Mario P. Benitez Jr., her sisters: Blanca Teodora Bogran, Norma E. Murillo Smith and Olga N. D’Angelo, grandsons: Brandon Todd and Brent Benitez, granddaughter Kellie E. Todd and daughter in-law Geraldina (Gerri) Zelaya Benitez.
