On April 18th, 2014, after 88 wonderful years, Ruth Claire Rose (nee Forhan) died gently at her Azalea Trace home with her niece, Susan and her friends and caregivers Sandra and Kim, who have been unfailing in their care and devotion, at her side. She is the loving aunt of nieces, Susan (Gordon), Laura (Bob), Elizabeth (deceased) and Mary Catherine (deceased) and great aunt to six nephews and one great niece.

Born in Toronto, Canada, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; her sister, Joan and parents, Rachel Bonfield and James Forhan. She is fondly remembered by her special cousin, Elaine (Don), cousins, Joel, Marc, Amanda, Nicholas, Charlie's sister Mary Alice Wildman (Greensboro North Carolina) and her children Mary Rose (Michael Czysz) and John. In recent months, she was particularly loved and cared for by her wonderful friends, Garlan, Susan and Phyllis.

Ruth lived such an exciting life, having had a career in the Canadian Foreign Service living in Norway, New York, India, Vietnam and Japan. After marrying Charlie while they were both living in Japan, they continued to travel the world with Exxon - Pakistan, the Philippines and Malaysia, retiring to Pensacola 1990 at the encouragement of Roy and Susan Smith.

Her story telling abilities were legendary. We will all remember her as a charming, gracious and elegant woman who will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, you may consider a contribution to Ruth's favorite charity, Habitat for Humanity Pensacola, 300 W. Leonard St., Pensacola, FL 32501.
