Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday, December 11, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital. Age 81 years. The son of the late Michael and Katherine (Lewandowski) Konieczka, Jerome was born March 3, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Mary Agnes Bryant, his loving wife of 58 years, on September 8, 1951. She survives him. Jerry was employed at Baker Perkins for 35 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #4232, Polish Falcons and American Legion Post #439. Jerry enjoyed playing ping-pong, horseshoes, bowling, cards and video games with his grandchildren. Additional survivors include three daughters and their spouses, Janet and Mark Schramke, Saginaw; Mary and Doug Koons, Mason, Michigan; Drs. Michele and Robert Malow, Miami Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Douglas (Heather) Koons, Daniel Koons, Jennifer, Jessica and Nicole Malow, Collin and Nathan Schramke; two great-grandchildren, Ella and Eric Koons; Jerry’s brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don and Barbara Peach, Elaine Butzin, Nancy and Tom Storch, James Bryant, Robert Bryant, Ken and June Bryant; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Emmett Marceau will officiate. Interment will take place 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Helen Catholic Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Children’s Christmas Store or the M.A.C. Loan Assistance Program.
