Darlene A. Newby

Of Plover died early Saturday morning October 18, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Age 70 Darlene was born August 27, 1944 in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Anton and Eleanor (Olbrantz) Klestinski. She attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1962.

Her marriage to Benjamin "Ben" Newby took place on July 14, 1962 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point, later moving to Plover. Her husband Ben survives.

Darlene worked for Point Sporting Goods for a number of years and most recently at Herrschners. She enjoyed traveling, especially for the winter months where she and Ben would spend the winter in Lake Havasu City in Arizona where they had many friends. Darlene was a member of the 1962 Bunch who enjoyed each other's company once a month.

She loved doing crafts, card playing and working the St. Bernadette Rummage Sale. She was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers, and was an avid trivia player where she was on the team of Late Night with Bob Keeshan.

Her most precious time was spending it with family where she supported all her grandchildren in their special events and programs and her granddaughter Rolling Derby. She also cherished the special summers of spending time up north at a cottage with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors besides her husband Ben of Plover are two daughters Kim (Dan) Oskar of Appleton and Rebecca (Steve) Klesmith of Wisconsin Rapids and one son Donald Newby of Nekoosa.

Four precious grandchildren Justin (fiancé Stephanie Crews) Klesmith, Lauren Klesmith and Danny and Audrey Oskar.

One Brother Ronald (Darlene) Klestinski of Manitowoc and his four children and a Sister-in-law Patricia Klestinski of Oshkosh and her two children.

She was preceded in death by parents and one Brother Robert Klestinski.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M... Friday October 24, 2014 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Monsignor Jeffrey Burrill officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bronislava Parish Cemetery.
