Harrie Longstaff
Funeral services for a retired policeman, Harrie Abell Longstaff, who died Sunday at his Eagle Creek home, will be at 2:30 p. m. Thursday at Riverview Abbey. He was born June 16, 1873, at Fondulac, [sic] Wis., and later was a member of the fire bureau in Milwaukee, Wis., and in 1900 went to Maine as a deep sea diver for the government. In 1911 he moved to a homestead in Montana and came to Portland in 1919. He was appointed to the police bureau here as a regular on May 10, 1921, and retired August 3, 1942, on pension. Longstaff was married to Francis Zahn in 1893. She died in 1947 and two years later he married Anna T. Hinds. The widow, stepdaughter, Edna Lindsay, Portland, and an adopted daughter in California survive.
