William Ernest Brown Sr., 82, died Feb. 15 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Ridgeland and was a member of First Ebenezer Baptist Church. He served in the Army and fought in World War II. He received the Bronze Star and other medals. He was a member of the Plasterer's Cement Mason Union (Local No. 15).
SURVIVORS: his wife, Frances Simmons Brown; four sons, William E. Brown Jr., Barry R. Brown and James L. Brown, all of Savannah, and Leon Simmons Jr. of Ridgeland; a daughter, Sheilah R. Brown of Savannah; a brother, Jake Brown Jr of Ridgeland; a sister, Ella Mae Smith of Ridgeland; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
