"William Andrew Carter, 72, of West Somerset, died at he Somerset City Hospital after a long illness. The son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carter, Mr. Carter was born in 1879 in Pulaski County, Ky. His wife preceded him in death.

A devout member of the First Baptist Church of Somerset, Mr. Carter was well known throughout the county. He had many friends and was held in high esteem by both young and old. His passing will be mourned by a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the grave in the Somerset City Cemetery Monday, September 3, with Dr. Preston L. Ramsey officiating."
