Doris Hosier
Doris J. Hosier, 84,a long time resident of New Kingston, died Wednesday, Nov.12, 2014 at Mountain Residential Care Center in Margaretville.
Doris was born August 2,1930 at Roxbury, the daughter of George B. and Marion (Frisbee)Mattice. She married Cornelius Hosier on January 9, 1949 at the United Methodist Church, Roxbury. He died on January 8, 1990.
Doris graduated from Roxbury Central School in 1948. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, quilting, traveling, doing crafts, and square dancing. She also played the clarinet and piano along with singing in the church choir.
Doris worked at NBT Bank in Margaretville for 20 years and also worked at the Ben Franklin Store and the Margaretville Department Store.
She also assisted her husband on the their dairy farm in New Kingston for several years.
She is survived by two sons and their spouses, David and Denise Hosier, and James and Michelle Hosier; a son-in-law Marvin Northrup; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Cornelius Hosier and a daughter, Karen Northrup.
Funeral services will be held 11 am. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014at the New Kingston Presbyterian Church in New Kingston with Pastor Shirley Davis officiating.
Calling hours will be held prior to the services at the church from 9:30 a.m. until services time at 11 a.m.
A committal services will follow at the New Kingston Cemetery.
