Louise M. Cords, age 94 of Mankato, died peacefully Monday, November 17, 2014 at her home in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Paul Lauer officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in St. Clair. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Louise was born on August 20, 1920 to Harold and Laura (Kurth) Schwarz in Mankato, MN. She was united in marriage to June 7, 1939. Louise was a homemaker for her family.
She was active and volunteered at her church Our Savior’s Lutheran and at the Red Cross Blood drives. She loved her flowers and gardening and was an avid bridge player. Louise enjoyed bowling, golf, traveling, ceramics and most of all loved her family and enjoyed life.
Louise is survived by her two daughters, Sharon (Daryl) Bateman and Carole (David) Hoel; son-in-law, Charles Peterson; three brothers, Mert (Elaine) Schwarz, Alan Schwarz, and Dean Schwarz; seven grandchildren, Mark (Natalie) Bateman, Marsha (David) Schmit, Eric (Kris) Bateman, Craig Hoel, Julie (Gordon) Korbel, Jon (Mirande) Peterson, and Nathen (Jen) Peterson; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cords; daughter, Mary Lee Peterson; brother, Robert Schwarz.
