He was born and raised in Coalhurst, Alberta and worked on the family farm for 42 years. After moving from the farm to Lethbridge in 1972 he started working for Canadian Western Natural Gas (ATCO), until his retirement in 1994. In 1952 Henry met Agatha and they were married in 1957. They had four children together.
