William "Bill" Everett Close

Aug. 10, 1946 - Sept. 26, 2015

William "Bill" Everett Close passed into eternal rest on September 26, 2015 with his daughter and grandsons by his side. Born August 10th 1946 to Everett L. Close and Kate M. Close, Bill graduated from Fresno High School and Fresno State University. He served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1970-1974, and retired from Pacific Gas and Electric Company after a 30 year career as an Electrical Engineer. Bill was an avid photographer and ballroom dancer. His other passions included Italian language and culture, and amateur radio. He held his ham radio license (WB6DNG) for many decades.

Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother, as well as many beloved family and friends. He is survived by his brother, David P. Close, Fresno, CA; his daughter, Angeline "Beth" Olney, Stockton, CA and Son, Ruben "Andrew" Close, Williston, ND; as well as two grandsons, Eddy V. Vasquez and Hunter E. Olney, both of Stockton, CA.

Bill will always be remembered by his family and friends as a man of great integrity, loyalty, kindness, generosity and love.

A Celebration of Life has been planned for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13th 2015, at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Dr. in Stockton. Please
