Helen Elizabeth (Kessler) Hamilton passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 while at Willow Health Care in Willow Springs, Missouri. She was 104 years old. Helen was born in Union County, Iowa on January 26, 1912 to Frank and Olga (Voss) Kessler.

On January 11, 1934 Helen married Albert Hamilton in Sioux City, Iowa. In 1978 while on their way to Florida, they stopped in Willow Springs, Missouri and never went any farther.

Cooking was one of Helen's talents and her family loved it when she would cook for them, especially when she was baking pies. She loved serving her family and others. Helen was always cheerful and happy, but was the happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Olga Kessler; husband, Albert; two brothers; three sisters; and one grandson, Steven Combs.

Helen is survived by one son, Jim Hamilton and wife Barbara of Rockport, Texas and their sons, Keith, Bob, and Tom. Two daughters, Barbara Combs and husband Glendon of Willow Springs, and their children, Jeff, Liz, Susan and Jim; Judie Seidman and husband Ed of Deerfield, Illinois, and their sons, Daniel, David, Eddie and Kenny. Also surviving are two sisters, May Carlisle and Pearl Mullin both of Creston, Iowa; twenty four great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations in memory of Helen can be made to the National Council of Aging (NCOA.org) or to the charity of your choice.

Visitation services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 6 pm – 8 pm at the Trinity Baptist Church in Willow Springs, Missouri.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016, 11:00 am in the Graceland Cemetery in Creston, Iowa, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs.
