OLD RESIDENT OF ARCOLA PASSES AWAY
Arcola, Ill., Oct. 17. — Mrs. Dora Apperson, a resident of Arcola for the past forty years, died at her home on South Locust street Monday night at ten o'clock. She had been in ill health for a number of years, having suffered a stroke of paralysis seven years ago. About six weeks ago she suffered another stroke.
Dora Beggs Apperson, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Beggs, was born in Charleston, Clark county, Indiana, on July 6, 1860. She came with her parents to Illinois at the age of two years. On December 12, 1882, she was married to Walter Apperson at Arcola, where she had since made her home except for a few years on a farm seven miles west of Arcola.
Three children were born to this union, James Beggs Apperson of Dallas, Texas; Walter Edgar Apperson of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Dora Estelle Apperson of Arcola, all of whom are living. She also leaves three brothers and two sisters, Charles Beggs of St. Paul, Frank Beggs of Minneapolis, J.R. Beggs of Arcola, Mrs. Mary Deedrick of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Stella Warne of Auburn, N.Y.
The funeral will be held from the home Thursday, with Rev. A.B. Peck of Hillsboro, a former Methodist minister of Arcola, in charge of the service. Burial will be in the Arcola cemetery.
