Born in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Frank C and Mildred Andrews Hamm. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, recieving the Purple Heart, and retired after 38 years as a United Methodist minister. He was a member of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference and the trustee board of the Methodist Home in Orangeburg and was first vice president of the Brunson Lions Club.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs Gene Daughtery Hamm; sons, Norman Hamm of Cummings and David Hamm of Swansea; a daughter, Mrs Patricia Hamm Heape of Gaston; a brother, Earle A Hamm of Medford, Mass; and a sister, Mrs Ellen Hamm Richardson of Riviera Beach, Fla.
Services will be held at 10 am Saturday at Brunson United Methodist Church, with burial in the Brunson cemetery.
Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton is in charge.
