MRS. D. C. CRAFT
Almira H. , daughter of Phineas and Lydia Coon Burdick, was born on South Hill, in Lincklaen, N. Y., Aug. 27,1839. Among a large company of young people she grew up and at the early age of 15 made a profession of religion and was baptized by Rev. J. R. Dish and joined the S. D. B. church and lived a faithful member till her death. On Sept. 28, 1861, she was married by Rev. Geo. E. Tomlinson to DeWitt C. Craft and God blest them with 9 children, all of whom are living and were present at the mother's funeral. For some years she has been in feeble health, but her patience and gentle tenderness made it a joy to the children and friends to be with her. Her last sickness was brief and she gently fell asleep on Sept. 28, 1908, the 42nd anniversary of their marriage. The funeral service was held in the nearby church at Lincklaen Center, where a large congregation gathered to look once more on that peaceful and blessed face. Those present from abroad were Mr. and Mrs. James M. Hall and daughter Ruth of Burlington, N. Y., Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Stillman and son Neil, of Geneva, Grant Burdick and daughter, Mrs. W. F Cooley, Cortland, Louis H. Burdick and sister Jennie, New Woodstock, and many relatives and friends from DeRuyter.
