Ronald Seth Downs passed away Sept. 2 2016, due to a long battle with different health problems for the last 20 plus years. We are so grateful you are out of pain but you will be truly missed every single day.

Ronald was born Aug. 8, 1961, to Seth and Sharon Downs; he was the oldest of five boys. He attended school in Smithfield, UT, and graduated from Sky View High in 1979. He met the love of his life Jeana Hale in September of 1979; they were later married and sealed for time and all eternity April 3, 1981. They built their life and home in Smithfield and had three children, Bonny, Andrew and Zachary.

He had a passion for history and could tell you any story you wanted to hear in detail. He loved hunting and the feel of being in the mountains; he loved to go hike up to Flat Top and see the family tree when he could. He decided to take a little trip to Scotland in 1979 with a good friend, and he learned more about this family heritage.

He is survived by his wife Jeana, daughter Bonny Jean (Brady) Roylance, grandson Jaycee, and two sons Andrew Ronald, and Zachary Jonathan, his mother Sharon Downs, and four brothers Todd, Jay, Kelly and Scott.
He is proceeded in death by his father Seth Downs, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Sept. 9, 2016, at the Smithfield South Stake Center chapel, 451 S. 250 East, in Smithfield. A viewing will be held that morning from 10:30 to 11:30 and memorial will begin at noon. A viewing will also be held at Nelson Funeral Home at 85 S. Main St. in Smithfield from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8. Interment will be held at the Smithfield Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.nelsonfueralhome.com.

The family wants to thank Rocky Mountain Care for all their care and support during this hard time; all friends and family, a big thank you for everything you have done to help.
