Irma R. Aandahl, 96, of East Windsor, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at Meadow Lakes Nursing Facility in East Windsor, N.J. Born in Portland, she lived in Washington, D.C. and Princeton, before moving to the Meadow Lakes Community 13 years ago. Mrs. Aandahl worked on the West Coast with the Bureau of Mines and also worked at the U.S. National Bank. She was a radio producer and talk show host at WAMU Public Radio at American University in Washington, D.C. More recently, she was a radio producer and host at Mercer County Community College radio station. Irma enjoyed volunteering. For many years, she devoted time to the Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic and also volunteered at the Princeton YMCA, where she served on its board. Predeceased by her parents, Knud and Inglif Roald; husband, Fredrick Aandahl; and son, Thomas Jeffrey Waltmon. Mrs. Aandahl is survived by a son, daughter, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The cremation service is private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
