Rotan-(RNS) Abner A. Aaron, 85, pioneer Rotan farmer, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday in Callan Hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral was to be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Weathersbee Chapel with Wardell Halliburton, Church of Christ minister of Roby officiating.
Burial was scheduled in Rotan Cemetery under direction of Weathersbee Funeral Home. Masonic graveside rites were directed by members of Rotan Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Aaron was born Sept. 6, 1885, in Rome, GA. He came to Fisher County in 1891 from GA. and married Katie Counts Dec. 24, 1915, in Rotan.
He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge 50 years and was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Suez Temple. He had farmed all his life near Rotan.
Survivors are his wife of Rotan, one daughter, Mrs. Juston Morrow of Rotan; one son Abner A. of Dallas; one brother Frank of Buffalo Gap; one sister Mrs. Mary Anderson of Rotan; four grandchildren ; and four great-grandchildren.

Aaron Asberry Aaron and Katie Maude Counts Aaron made their home near Rotan and have been prominent in their church and community. Their children are Jessie Aaron Morrow, born November 26, 1916, and Abner Ashberry Aaron Jr., born April 18, 1921.
