WEST POINT -- Mr. Brian A. Maddux, 18, of West Point died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, near Opelika.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of West Point with the Rev. Dan Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lanett.
Mr. Maddux is survived by his parents, Gary and Sharon Maddux of West Point; two sisters, Heather Maddux and Crispen Maddux, both of West Point; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Grace Maddux of Valley; and his maternal grandmother, Doris Swader Gillenwaters of Valley.
Born July 18, 1980, in Langdale, Ala., Mr. Maddux was a member of Spring Road Christian Church in Lanett. He was a 1998 graduate of Springwood School in Lanett. Mr. Maddux was very active in school activities, where he played football, basketball and tennis. Mr. Maddux was the AISA State Champion in Tennis in 1994 and 1996. He was a former State Champion in drama. Mr. Maddux an avid outdoorsman. He was currently a freshman at Auburn University.
