Daughter of Thomas Jackson and Amanda (Burdette) Denson. She lived in Georgia as a child before moving with her family to Winston County AL. She married Newton Byrd Aaron who was the sheriff of Winston County AL for a number of years. There were five children born to this union: Otho Denson Aaron, Lurline (Aaron) Gilmer, Elaine (Aaron) Godfrey, Newton Byrd Aaron, Jr, and Maxine Aaron. She was active in Sacred Harp singing (fa-sol-la), taught to her by her father, and wrote a song entitled "Consolation" that was included in the 1936 Denson Revision of the Original Sacred Harp. She was a sister to Paine and Howard Denson (also buried at Fairview Cemetery in Double Springs AL), Margaret Denson Cagle, and Jarusha Denson Edwards, who were all well-established Sacred Harp singers and composers.
