SOMERS, Conn. -- Alan D. Abbe, 54, of 49 Patsun Road, an employee of the Boutin & Sons Construction Co., died yesterday at home. Born in Stafford Springs, he lived in Somers for 48 years. He was a member of the Somersville Congregational Church, the National Rifle Association and the Somers Snowmobile Club. He leaves his wife, the former Barbara S. Richards; two sons, David of Manchester, N.H., and Daniel of Somers; a daughter, Diane Farnham of Exeter, N.H.; a sister, Ellen Niederwerfer of Windsor; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday afternoon in the church with burial in West Cemetery. Somers Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Division of Hematology & Oncology, Baystate Medical Center, 759 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01107, Attn: Dr. Higby.
