Melanie Ann Abbott (nee Lynch) 58, died peacefully on December 30, 2010 while surrounded by loved ones.

Married in 2003, she is survived by her husband, Randal Farr; children Nicole Porter and husband Seth of Cortlandt Manor, Thadeous Abbott of Elmsford; her sweet granddaughter, Natalie Porter; mother and step-father Beverly and Bob Thomas of White Plains; sisters Claudia Jones of Mahopac, Pamela Guerrerio and husband Joseph of Somers, Deirdre Cardona and husband James of Somers; five nephews and two nieces. Predeceased by her first husband, William Abbott, in 1983.

Melanie has lived in Hawthorne since 1975. She delighted in spending time with her family and friends and spent many happy hours in her kitchen and gardens. Christmas was her most special time of the year. We have all lost an angel.

A visitation will take place at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Interment will be held in the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
