BELOIT, Kan. — Jimmie Dean "BJ" Abbott, 76, formerly of Doniphan, died July 11, 2014, in Beloit, Kan.

A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Inurnment will take place at the Doniphan Cedarview Cemetery.

Mr. Abbott was born April 15, 1938.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Abbott; a stepdaughter, Robin; and an infant daughter.

Survivors include his daughters, Roni Erington and Roxanne Patton, both of Beloit, Kan.

Also surviving are his grandchildren and their spouses, Jeromy and Traci Vauble, Alicia and Dustin Lawton, Cody and Cassidy Patton, Jessi and Rory Patton, Kayla Hicks, Kelsi Hicks, Kinsi Hicks and Kolby Schmitz, along with nine great-grandchildren and one on the way.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Jimmie was raised and attended school in California. On Sept. 16, 1990, he was united in marriage to Judy (Bloyer) Abbott. Following their marriage they lived in Doniphan. Jimmie spent many years as a truck driver, having many adventures on the road. He was also employed by FSI in Alda.

Jimmie was a member of the Grand Island Family Church. He served as president of the residence council at Hilltop Lodge. He enjoyed playing bingo, arts and crafts, serving "Bapas Juice" to his grandchildren, and was famous for his renowned chili and spaghetti.

He loved the Huskers and his four-legged best friend, Kennedy. Above all, he cherished his family and beloved grandchildren.
