Son of Dale and Shirley (Vrbas) Abbott.

On Sept. 9, 1995, he married Jyl Applegarth in Wauneta.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Baleigh; son, Jaden; father, Dale Abbott; mother, Shirley Abbott; sister, Jill Gomez and her husband, Rodney; brother, Jason Abbott and his wife, Sandy; four nephews; two nieces; and many other family members and friends.

He attended McCook Westward Elementary School and Gibbon High School and graduated in 1994.

He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing, camping and being at the lake. He loved to ride his Harley motorcycle. He was active in his children's lives.

He was active in the military and Nebraska National Guard, including time in Afghanistan, where he enjoyed learning about the rural communities and he bonded with the children there.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Delbert Abbott and Thelma Clack; and maternal grandfather, Charlie Vrbas.
